Train derails in Taiwan: at least 36 people lost their lives

Train derails in Taiwan. At least 36 people died as a result of the derailment of the train in the Hualien district in eastern Taiwan. While the wagons of the train were badly damaged, firefighters and search and rescue teams were dispatched to the scene. Taiwan’s leader, Tsai Ing-wen, instructed the ministries and organizations to start work on the accident.

According to news in the national press, the train with 8 wagons carrying about 350 passengers derailed in the tunnel it entered in the Hualien area.

While the 4th and 5th wagons of the train were heavily damaged, firefighters and search and rescue teams were dispatched to the scene. Reuters announced that at least 36 people died from the accident.

Taiwan leader Tsai Ing-wen asked the relevant ministries and organizations to initiate the necessary work on the accident.
